Deck the Halls…

The theme this week at Tilda and Friends is ‘decorations’.  So, when do you ‘deck your halls’, put up your tree and the Christmas lights, and get into a festive mood?  I have to say that for us it’s always later than we would like, as this time of the year is so hectic.  I used a Penny Black fir stamp on my ATC, with the pretty Magnolia baubles from the recent Winter club kit, and a Heidi Grace scroll stamp to embellish the side of the ATC.  I dotted the card liberally with Stickles crystal glitter glue, to add a touch of festive glitz, although this doesn’t show up well in the photo.  The sentiment was made on the computer.

Why don’t you join us in our ATC challenge this week, and get yourself into the spirit of the season?

Spooky!

With Halloween fast approaching, Penny Black Saturday Challenge would like you to make a spooky card this week.  I had to improvise, as I don’t own any Halloween stamps.  I adapted the very cute ‘Easter March’ stamp by adding a stamped and cut out pumpkin image (thank you Fran!), which I placed  over the Easter egg and chick.  Surprisingly, it has worked quite well!  I coloured the altered image in seasonal colours with my Promarkers.  I cut out the image in a circle shape, to represent a large full moon, and shaded the outside edge with purple chalk to give it some depth.  I cut out a little bat and added it to the moon shape to give it a more eerie feel.  I was lucky enough to find a piece of DP with flowers that looked very much like pumpkin flowers.  This is from the Dovecraft Fairies DP set.  The colours match the Bazzill card that I used to layer and matt my image perfectly.  The sentiment is from a House Mouse acrylic stamp set, and this was stamped, matted, and attached to the card.  I drew the tiny cobwebs at the corner, again to make it a little more spooky. Finally, I attached some Prima flowers with some brads from my stash, and some photo corners to the top left and bottom right corners of the card.

Cute Card Thursday – Animals Only!

This week, the theme on Cute Card Thursday is ‘Animals Only’, so people aren’t allowed on your cards at all!  Here is my card for the challenge.  I used a Penny Black hedghog stamp for the image, and this was coloured with Prisma pencils as usual.  The birthday sentiment stamp is by Hero Arts, and I used backing papers by K & Co. The toning card is by DCWV, the flowers by Prima, and the brads and ribbon are from my stash.

Penny Black Sketch #1

The Penny Black challenge this week is a sketch.

Here is my interpretation, and, as you can see, I turned the sketch around onto its side to make my card.  I adore this little hedgie with his bouquet of flowers, and this image seemed very fitting for a birthday card.  I coloured him with my Prisma pencils, using paper stumps and Sansodor to blend.  The background papers are by K & Co, and the cardstock by DCWV, and I embossed the piece behind the image with a Cuttlebug folder to give a little texture to the card.  The sentiment is by Hero Arts, and this was die-cut with Nestabilities on the Cuttlebug and then matted and layered with scraps of the paper and card used in the project.  Lastly, I placed the little pearly flowers onto the card to accent.
