Pocket Full of Posies – Challenge #4

Ayelet is hosting the challenge at Pocket Full of Posies this week, and the theme is ‘All that Glitters’, so don’t forget to add plenty of bling to your card, as well as the compulsory flowers. Our lovely sponsors for this fortnight are The Pixie Cottage.

Here is my card for this challenge. Continuing my love affair with the Lili of the Valley stamps, I’m using one of their cutie-pie little ladies as my image. I’ve used Promarkers to colour her as usual, and added some touches of glitter here and there on the little scene. I believe that the gorgeous glittery paper is by MME, but it was just a loose sheet in my stash, so don’t quote me on that! The sentiment is by Whiff of Joy, and all the cardstock is by Bazzill. The flowers are rosebuds (very similar to the Prima ones) from my local craft shop, to which I’ve also added a dusting of fine crystal glitter.

Thank you for taking a look at my card!

Pocket Full of Posies – Challenge #3

Welcome to the third Pocket Full of Posies challenge! This week we are being sponsored by Di’s Digi Downloads. Di has some fab downloads, so do go and have a nosey at her site. It was my turn to choose the theme for the challenge this time, and I chose the colour combination of Aqua and Peach.

Here is my card. For the image, I decided on one of the pretty, older, stamps from Sugar Nellie. This one hadn’t been inked a lot, so I thought that it was time to give her another airing. She is coloured with Promarkers as usual, and the floral paper is by My Mind’s Eye. I’m afraid that I can’t remember the origin of the other paper. The cardstock is by Bazzill. The large and tiny peach flowers are handmade, using Tim Holtz’s ‘Grunge Flowers’ die, and the aqua ones are from Prima’s e-line collection.  They have all been spritzed with glimmer mist, and lightly touched with stickles just around the petal edges.

Thanks for taking a peek at my card!  I do hope you will be tempted to join us for the new challenge.

Another Card for the Wild Orchid Challenge

Here is another card for the Wild Orchid Challenge.  The stamp that I used is from Cuddly Buddly, flowers etc. from my stash and, of course, I’ve used my Promarkers to colour the image!

Thanks for looking!

PFOP – A Sketch!

For our Pocket Full of Posies challenge this week we have a great sketch by Sandie  for you to follow. Our sponsors this week are Cardz’n’Scrapz, and they are giving our winner a copy of Tim Holtz’s book ‘A Compendium of Curiosities’. Our Guest Designer is Marcea Watkins.

Sandie’s sketch

Here is the card that I made using the sketch. I used designer papers from My Mind’s Eye and K & Co’s Wild Raspberry collection, and the image and sentiment are both by Lili of the Valley. I coloured the image with Promarkers, and sponged the edge the oval with Distress Ink by Ranger in Broken China. My floral decorations are all from my stash, and I added a sparkle to them by Glimmer Misting the flowers with Iridescent Gold before attaching them to the card.

I hope that you enjoyed our first challenge, and thank you to all of you who made a card – they were all wonderful!  I’m sure that you’ll love playing along this fortnight too, and I’m really looking forward to seeing the entries based on Sandie’s sketch!

Passion for Promarkers – Michele’s Sketch

This week’s Passion for Promarkers challenge is to follow Michele’s lovely sketch with an added element, which is to make your own flowers.  Our sponsors for this challenge are Letraset, who are giving our winner a set of five Promarkers.

I used plain off-white flowers, which I painted with pearlised watercolour paints. This has the effect of stiffening the flower and giving it the look of pearly porcelain. I added a pearly brad and a silver spacer to the flower centre for further decoration. The designer papers are by Basic Grey, and the stamp is by Sugar Nellie. Please scroll down to see my Promarker colouring recipe.

Promarkers used:

Skin: Ivory, Blush, Pastel Pink.Hair: Vanilla, Tan, Caramel.

Clothes: Lime Zest, Pear Green, Pale Pink, Dusky Rose, Cardinal Red, Caramel, Cinnamon.

Butterfly and Mushrooms: Tan, Caramel, Cinnamon, Cardinal Red, Almond, Tan.
