Amazing Friends

Just a quick post to show you a couple of cards that I made for two amazing ladies who helped me out recently – you know who you are, girls!  I used WoJ stamps and sentiments on both cards, Basic Grey DP for the first card, and K & Co for the second.  Hope you like them – thanks for looking and for your comments, which I really appreciate.

Spreading Joy

My Christmas card making has started in earnest, and this is one of the first cards I’ve made. I just love this little chap, an Elizabeth Bell design by Sugar Nellie, and available from Funky Kits.  I added some Heidi Grace flourishes, with dots of green glitter glue, to the corners on the image to add extra interest. The background paper is a magazine freebie, the sentiment is by HOTP, and the flowers are from Poppicrafts.  I used Bazzill card for the accents, and my Nestabilities to cut out the frame for the sentiment.  The brads on the flowers, from my stash, have been glittered.

Fluff and Stuff

This week’s challenge at Tilda and Friends involves using fluffy stuff on your ATC.  Any kind of medium which gives your ATC a dimensional and ‘fluffy’ look can be used.  I used Fun Flock from Stampendous on mine.  I coloured Magnolia’s Santa with Promarkers as usual, and cut him out.  I added glue from a glue pen to the tree, Santa’s beard, hat and cuffs.  My tip is to put plenty of flock on, press it lightly into the glue, leave it to dry, and then tip the flock onto a piece of paper and return it to the tub.  You may need to press it into the tub with something like a small teaspoon to fit it all in again – it seems to expand when it’s out of the tub!  I also flocked the white brads that I used on the top right hand corner.  This is done in the same way, but you can dip your brad in the tub of flock to cover it.  I held the brad with some tweezers, and gave it a quick blast with the heat gun to dry.  The sentiment is computer-printed, then cut into the arrow shape, and the DP is from DCWV.

Do come and join us in some fluffy fun at Tilda and friends this week.  We’d love to see your ATC!

Friday Sketchers Challenge

I wanted to try the beautiful sketch on Friday Sketchers this week. I used a charming Whiff of Joy stamp for my image, and papers by Basic Grey. The sentiment stamp is also by WoJ.  I coloured Willow with Promarkers, and used Nestabilities to cut the card into an oval.  I also cut out a scalloped oval in dark salmon pink Bazzill for the frame.  The flower, leaf and grosgrain ribbon are from my stash.
