Elzybells Second Challenge

The second Elzybells challenge is another lovely sketch by Jeanne. I thought recently that it was about time to make a start on my Christmas cards, and as Elzybells have so many gorgeous Christmas stamps to offer I decided to use one of my favourites, Sleighing Eskimo, to make this card, following Jeanne’s sketch. I just love this little chap, with his cute little penguin pal!  After stamping, I masked off the main image, and used blue and purple chalks to give the impression of the sky.  I coloured the image with my Promarkers, with a white gel pen to highlight.  I also added a little touch of crystal glitter on the snow and the three large snowflakes, although this doesn’t show up very well in the photo. The snowflakes are punched, and I have added a small blue gem in the centres. The background paper is by Dovecraft, and the corners were embossed with the Cuttlebug

Pink Blue and Green

This week at Tilda and Friends there is a colour theme to follow – Pink, Blue and Green. As an incentive to join in the fun, there are some gorgeous Souffle gel pens in those colours to be won!  I used a pretty Hanglar & Stanglar image for my ATC.  It is coloured with Prisma pencils, with Sansodor and paper stumps to blend.  The backing paper is by DCWV, and the blue card is Bazzill Bling. I punched the edge of the Bazzill with a Martha Stewart punch.  The little heart-shaped buttons are from my stash, and the sentiment is computer-printed.

New Beginnings

The latest theme at Tilda and Friends is ‘New Beginnings’. This time of the year reminds me of children starting school, and I thought the new Magnolia School range was perfect to use for this.  The image I used was stamped for me by the lovely Frances – thank you Fran!  Tilda is coloured with Promarkers, which are fast becoming my favourite colouring medium.  I used a piece of black cardstock for the background, and ‘chalked’ the writing with a white gel pen to give the impression of a blackboard.  I left the outer edges of the ATC plain, so that I could give a wood effect to the blackboard surround.  I added a Prima flower to accent.

…and here is a card which I made using my ATC as a card topper.

Sweet Christmas Sugar

I love this gorgeous Nellie stamp – she looks so cosy with her winter outfit and teddy!  I normally prefer to make Christmas cards in the traditional colours, but I really enjoyed making this one in non-traditional pinks, pale blue and greens for a change.  The stamp is of course by Sugar Nellie, and is available from Funky Kits.  Nellie is coloured with Prisma pencils, using Sansodor and paper stumps to blend.  The background papers and coloured card are all by DCWV. I embossed the white cardstock with the Cuttlebug, using the the Snowflake Embossing Folder, and the sentiment rosette was die-cut with the scalloped circle Nestabilities set.  The sentiment stamp is by HOTP, and the flowers and brads are from my stash.

Elzybells First Sketch Challenge

This week sees the first fortnightly challenge on the Elzybells Blog. This time only the Design Team is taking part, but from the second challenge onwards everyone will be able to play. The first challenge is a sketch from Jeanne. I have used Elzybells’ Flower Girl stamp on my card, and she is coloured with Promarkers.  I used Nestabilities to die-cut the circles, the DP is by Mara Mi, and the flowers, ribbon and brad are from my stash.

Friends are Forever

This week at Tilda and Friends we have decided that from now on the category of ‘Friends’ should include all cute characters and critters from other companies, as well as from Magnolia.  I decided to use this very cute little miss from the Hanglar & Stanglar range of stamps, which will shortly be available to purchase from Funky Kits in the UK.  I used an HOTP paper for the background, with the ‘Friends Are Forever’ sentiment stamp, from Elzybells, stamped on pink card edged with faux stitching.  I coloured the girl with Promarkers, and added a small Prima flower to accent.

Come along, bring all your friends,  and join us in this week’s challenge.  There is a wonderful prize, kindly donated by Andrea, on offer for the winner.

Four Seasons ATC

The August challenge on Tilda and Friends was to make four ATCs depicting the four seasons.  I finally finished all four, and here they are!  Sorry for the delay in showing you the pictures.
