This week the challenge at Tilda and Friends is to use buttons on your ATCs. I’ve kept mine fairly simple this time. I used the Magnolia hearts stamp, which I coloured with Prisma pencils, with Sansodor and paper stumps to blend, and then tied a vintage mother of pearl button to the centre of the hearts with embroidery floss. The background is a gorgeous K & Co paper, and the embossed buttons are made with one of the new Cuttlebug border embossing folders. I edged the card with a chalk ink pad, and ran this lightly over the embossed buttons to emphasise their shapes. I attached the hearts to the ATC with some 1mm foam pads for a little extra dimension, and added three more vintage buttons to embellish the ATC further. The words were made on the computer, shaded with a browny-pink ink pad, and placed on the card. To finish, I drew faux stitches on the edges of the ATC.
Why don’t you raid your button box, and come join us in making some beautiful ATCs? There’s a special prize for the under 16’s this week, full of goodies to keep little hands busy during the summer holidays!
