Cute Card Thursday – Embellishments

The challenge on Cute Card Thursday this week is to include three types of embellishments on your card. I used a gorgeous Sarah Kay stamp image, which was coloured with Prisma pencils and Sansodor, and cut out with Nestabilities dies and my Cuttlebug. My three embellies are grosgrain ribbon, paper flowers and a button brad. The retro papers are by DCWV.

IsMaKi Challenge 23

This is the Ismaki challenge sketch for this week, and you are also asked to use only two or three colours on your card.

Here is my card, and as I love the colour combination of pink, blue and green, this is what I used for mine. The image is a Sarah Kay stamp, with papers by Basic Grey. The ‘Thank You’ stamp is by Impression Obsession and flowers and  brads are from my stash.

Bits and Pieces

This week’s challenge at Tilda and Friends is called ‘Bits and Pieces’ and the idea is to use up your scraps to make your ATC, with none of the pieces over 1″x 2″.  I thought that this would be the perfect opportunity to use two of my favourite techniques – ‘paper-piecing’ and ‘serendipity’.

I made the background with the serendipity technique, tearing pieces of scraps and randomly adhering them to the backing card until it was completely covered, then trimming the edges to ATC size.  I chose a Tilda stamp (Tilda Picking Grass), coloured her with Prisma pencils, and paper-pieced her outfit with coordinating pieces of scraps.  The punched flowers were also made with scrap card, and I added the purple pearly gems to accent.  The ‘serendipity’ text was made on the computer, cut out, and edged with purple ink.  Finally, the ATC was edged with the same purple ink.

CCT Challenge 13 – Christmas

The challenge over at Cute Card Thursday this week is Christmas! As I invariably leave it till the last minute to make my Christmas cards, I thought it would be a good idea to join in and make my first for this year.

I used Magnolia’s very cute ‘Santa With Tree’ stamp, coloured with Prisma pencils blended with paper stumps and Sansodor, for the main image.  The ‘Believe’ stamp is by Technique Tuesday, the backing paper is by HOTP, and the white card is embossed with the Snowflake Cuttlebug folder.  The flowers accents are by Prima, and the brads are from my stash.

Just Because…

Here is a card I made just because I love this Sugar Nellie stamp!  It’s dedicated to all my friends, old and new, with lots of love.  I wish I could send you all a card to show you how much I appreciate your friendship.  I’m feeling a wee bit sentimental today!

A Little More Sweetness

I was delighted to be able to use another of Elizabeth’s ‘Sweet Ebony’ stamps for the second challenge at A Spoon Full of Sugar. The theme this week is to use only the colours pink, blue and green, with brown tones for hair and skin. I have to admit that the restriction on other colours was a little harder than I thought it would be, but I got there in the end!  Again, Ebony is coloured with Prisma pencils, and blended with paper stumps and Sansodor. The papers are by K & Co and everything else is from my stash.

Sweet Ebony

I recently purchased a set of stamps designed by a very talented illustrator by the name of Elizabeth Bell, and I have to say that these very cute characters have become a firm favourite with me and many other stampers. Here is the first of many cards that I’ve made with my stamps.

I’ve used K & Co papers for the background, and Sweet Ebony is coloured with Prismas, blended with paper stumps and Sansodor.  The gems, flowers and brads are from my stash.

Bring Me Sunshine!

This week’s theme on Tilda and Friends is ‘Sunshine’.  I made my ATC with torrential rain outside, and it was a little difficult to get motivated until I brought out all my sunshiny coloured stash.  The gorgeous Flower Power Tilda is coloured with Prismas, blended with Sansodor, as usual, and I added a little touch of Stickles glitter glue to her flower headband to highlight. I used a bright yellow cardstock for the backing and randomly stamped a Studio G sun image in orange over this.  The words are printed on the computer with a Dymo font.

I hope that our ATCs this week help to bring a little sunshine to your day, especially those of you who are also experiencing dreadful rainy weather.  Come and join us in spreading a little sunshine!

Cute Card Thursday

I’m a little late in joining in this week’s challenge on the Cute Card Thursday blog, but here is my card anyway! The theme this week is ‘patterned paper’, and I have used a subtle striped design by K&Co, to give a fresh ‘country’ look to my card. The image is by Hanglar & Stanglar, coloured with Prisma pencils, blended with Sansodor and paper stumps. I cut all the scallops with a Fiskars shape cutter, and the hearts are punched out with paper punches. The heart button is from my sewing box, and the stitches are done with a white Sakura Souffle pen.

I was thrilled to have received two awards recently. The first one is from Fairymadjo who, despite experiencing some difficult times lately, was thoughtful enough to send this award to her friends at Tilda and Friends. Thank you Jo, I really appreciate it!

My next award is from the lovely Hannah, and for those of you who haven’t yet come across her blog, please do go take a look.  She is an incredibly talented card maker, and aged only ten.  Thank you Hannah, you’ve really made my weekend with this award and your very sweet comment.

from Hannah

All my blogging friends are all so talented, and it’s really difficult to think of an individual to pass these awards on to, but I will put my thinking cap on and decide in a day or two who should receive them.

Thanks again, Jo and Hannah.
