Blog Award!

Blog award from Debbie

I received this wonderful award from Debbie and Donalda.  Thank you both so much; you have made my day, and it was lovely of you to think of me.  I would now like to award this to the blogs which are an inspiration to me.  I think that many of them will have already received this award, but I would just like to add my name those those who admire their work.  It was very difficult to pick seven, as there are so many other blogs I would love to award this to, but here are some of my favourites.

Penny Black – Pink, Green and Brown Challenge

The latest challenge at Penny Black Saturday Challenge is to use the colours pink, green and brown on your card, and this is my card for this week.

The lovely hedgie is of course by Penny Black.  I coloured the image with Prisma pencils blended with Sansodor, and highlighted the ice cream cone with a touch of clear glitter. The sentiments are from Autumn leaves and Cuddly Buddly and everything else is from my stash.

A Spoon Full of Sugar – Checks Galore!

The latest challenge at A Spoon Full of Sugar is to use checks on your card, and here is the card I made with this theme in mind.

A Spoon Full of Sugar \'Checks\'

The gorgeous image I used is a Sweet Ebony stamp, designed by Elizabeth Bell. I used Prisma pencils to colour, with paper stumps and Sansodor to blend.  The checked papers are from Rita Marie & Company and Joanna Sheen, and the flowers and brads from my stash.

Tilda and Friends ATC Challenge

This week our theme is ‘Summer Blooms’.  To me the ultimate summer flower is the rose, so I used some pressed rose buds on my ATC, along with the lovely Tilda from the Spring Club kit.  I coloured the image using Marvy markers with a water brush.  I love the watercolour effect this gives. The decorated papers are by K & Co.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge – Friendship

The theme for this week at Penny Black Saturday Challenge is Friendship.  As it’s always fun to make a card for a friend, I thought I would make one for the challenge, and then it would be ready for when I wanted to send a smile and hug to someone.

The friendly hedgies are, of course, by Penny Black.  The Friends Forever sentiment stamp is by Rubber Stampede, and the backing paper was a magazine freebie.  Everything else is from my stash.

Cute Card Thursday Challenge 15

The challenge on Cute Card Thursday is an easy one this week – we are asked to make a birthday card. I’ve been eager to find time to play with my Elizabeth Bell ‘Sweet Ebony’ stamps again, and chose Ebony on her hobby horse for my CCT challenge card.

I used DP from K & Co, with Bazzill card to accent.  I found the paper lace whilst on holiday and thought it would add little touch of femininity to a not so girly card! The sentiment stamp is by Cuddly Buddly, and is die-cut with the scalloped circle Nestabilities set.

Celebration!

The theme for the fourth challenge at A Spoon Full of Sugar is ‘Celebrations’.  I wanted to make an anniversary card for our friends, Mario and Helen, this week, and decided to combine this with the challenge.  I used a Hanglar and Stangler image, with HOTP paper for the background.  The flowers, pearly gems, and brads are from my stash.  The sentiment is printed on the computer and cut out with the oval Nestabilities set.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream

This week’s guest designer at Tilda and Friends is the very talented Jacqui, and her theme choice is ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’.

I tried to portray Titania on my card, and used Tilda with Hat, with the hat cut off, as she has a lovely floaty dress.  She is coloured with Prisma pencils, blended with Sansodor, and has touches of Stickles glitter glue on her dress.  Her starry crown is made with mini confetti, and her butterfly wings are computer clip art. I used Magnolia’s Goblin Grass, Goblin Fungi, and Dragonflies stamps in the background of my ATC.

Penny Black Challenge

Some of my favourites stamps are by Penny Black, and I was excited to hear of a new challenge blog, Penny Black Saturday Challenge, which features the stamps I love. The theme for this week is ‘First Penny Black Stamp’.  I had a very nostalgic rummage through my stamp collection and found this sweet bunny, which was my very first PB stamp!  The image is coloured with Prismas, with Sansodor to blend, the designer papers are by K & Co and Papercrafts 4 You, and the sentiment is by Stampendous. The grosgrain ribbon, flowers and brad are from my stash.
